Walking in silence, I open to the wonder of the world before me. In the stillness, I glimpse a scene that excites, and all else falls away. Frame, focus, squeeze the shutter release, and my camera captures the light of the ever changing and transforms it into the timeless.
To evoke my original perception, I manipulate the image in digital form and then commit to a pigment print that will last for over a hundred years. This is but a trace in the continuum, and a celebration of the moment.
Photography for me is about being alert to the changes that enliven my feelings and allow me to see; and I am also aware of a certain element of good fortune.
